First things first, what are on-page seo techniques?

On-page (or on-site) seo techniques are those techniques that can be implemented on the ‘page’ itself. It includes search engine optimized content, Meta tags, title tags, keyword density, site-structure etc. These on-page techniques help you attain higher search ranks which in turn helps you get higher traffic.

Keyword Density –
Keyword density of your article should be anywhere between 4% to 7%. So for every 500 word article you should have around 30-35 keyword phrases you are targeting. Never ever go beyond 10%. Google will flag your content as spam.
 
Title Tag –
Rule of thumb: never keep your title tag above 70 characters. It should have the main keywords you are targeting. It is one of the most important factor of on-site seo. You can even use long tail keywords to enhance the effectiveness.
 
Content –
Never forget that even today ‘Content is the King’. Provide value to your readers. Post new content regularly. Once a week is pretty good. Once a month is a bare minimum. Your content should be at least 650 words (500 is okay but…) and you should never compromise on the quality.

Description Tag –
Another important aspect of on-page seo. Write your description tag short, simple and attractive. It should not exceed 160 words. This text should be appealing at the first glance to people to click on your link in search results.

Structured URLs –
Structuring your URL is of utmost importance. URLs should be short, simple and easy to remember. Short URLs perform better and to enhance their effectiveness even further, you must add your keywords to them.
Example – URL of your content on topic ‘Tasty and easy to make vegan Chocolate Dessert’ should be
